Masterclasses & Retreats

Our retreats and masterclasses are focused on bringing together a community of like-minded people interested in learning with us. We incorporate mindfulness meditation and yoga into our Washindo practice, blending these classical physical, mental and spiritual practices to enhance fitness, flexibility, movement and well-being, helping you to develop a practice habit that you can take into your daily life.

The Washindo Kai Masterclass Programme

This is a series of learning events which take place over a weekend three or four times per year. The emphasis is on the development of specific skills and forms to progress the development of those attending and to introduce them to new practice methods to accelerate their learning and understanding of Washindo.

The Washindo Kai Retreat Programme

This is a week long programme of learning which usually takes place in the beautiful Algarve region of Portugal. While mirroring the above “Masterclass” content, we also introduce participants to mindfulness meditation, yoga and relaxation. They will learn how to blend mind, body and spirit into their techniques and by doing so, learn how to defend themselves and their lives effortlessly and gracefully from a peaceful heart.

The delegates are encouraged to bring their partners with them to these events – there is plenty of time in between learning sessions for both participants and partners to enjoy the beautiful environment and use the facilities. Our evenings are spent eating good food, drinking wine, chatting about our practice and having a good laugh – sprinkled with music and often the odd spot of dancing!

Watch out for details of our next Retreat for 2017. Message us using the contact form if you’d like to register your interest or find out more.

Club Workshops

If requested, we can arrange half day, one day or weekend courses for any club interested in practicing and experiencing the benefits of Washindo.

Contact us if you’d like to organise a course for your club (Washindo affiliated or not) led by Shihan Colin Reeve.
